SPTS provides educational opportunities pertinent to your practice…at a discount to you!
In addition to sponsoring great educational and professional opportunities at the APTA Combined Sections Meeting yearly, the SPTS provides many other ways for you to stay up to date. These are open to all physical therapists, but at a significantly reduced cost to you, our member.
Team Concept Conference is a two and a half day conference held annually in December in Las Vegas, NV. Current concepts in prevention and management of sports injuries are presented in lecture and hands-on experiences by some of the world’s best researchers and clinicians in sports medicine and sports physical therapy practice.
Home Study Courses are an economical and efficient way to keep current on sports physical therapy practice while earning continuing education contact hours. In addition to the 25-30 contact hours for physical therapy, many are also approved for NATA credits for dual-credentialed therapists. Topics vary from joint-specific topics such as the hip or shoulder to special populations such as the female or aging athlete. The home study courses are now available for purchase through the online store located on the SPTS website.
Plus, with our new “Dues Back” program, first-time SPTS members or student members who graduate and renew as a full SPTS member receive $60 toward the already discounted member price of a Home Study Course in their first year. We hope you will consider taking advantage of this great discount and get your “dues back!”
Emergency Medical Response for the Physical Therapist is an intensive three-day course (24 contact hours) specifically for the physical therapist working in providing sideline and courtside coverage for athletic events. Content concentrates on the management of illness or injury until the arrival of advanced medical care. Successful completion of the course meets requirements established by the Sports Physical Therapy Specialist Council to sit for the Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS) Examination.
