The Sports Physical Therapy Section will be sponsoring a silent auction at the Combined Sections Meeting in Chicago, IL to benefit Physical Therapy research. The auction will be held during the “SPTS Gala,” 8 PM-10 PM, on Thursday, February 9, 2012.

The goal of the fundraiser is to provide funding to the Sports Section Legacy Fund and the Foundation for Physical Therapy to advance the profession of physical therapy through support of scientifically based and clinically relevant research. 

The advancement of sports physical therapy lies within the discoveries of clinical investigators and academic researchers.  The Legacy Fund is dedicated to providing quality mentorship to its awardees and to provide necessary funding for essential research that can revolutionize the way sports injuries are treated and lives are restored.

During its 30+ years of existence, the Foundation for Physical Therapy has awarded more than $10 million in grants and scholarships, funded hundreds of researchers and supported over 300 research projects, two Clinical Research Centers and one Clinical Research Network.

For the past several years, this fundraiser has been a huge success because of your contributions.  To continue the Sports Section’s legacy of funding critical research endeavors, we need YOUR support.  The Sports Physical Therapy Section is seeking donations of sports equipment and memorabilia (autographed and non-autographed), gift certificates (to national chain merchants such as Home Depot or Target), graphic media (CD’s, DVD’s, videos, software), educational materials (textbooks, etc.), art, jewelry, and services.  All donations will be gratefully accepted! The 2012 Silent Auction Donation Form gives all the information for donating items.  The donation form may also be used for tax purposes.  Keep a copy of the form for your records.
