Second Annual Symposium: The Athlete's Hip

A multidisciplinary approach to the management of hip pathology in active patients

This course will present information on pathomechanics contributing to common hip injuries in physically active people, as well as treatment strategies to improve care of the patient with hip pain.

Topics include arthroscopic surgical techniques to correct femoral acetabular impingement (FAI) and evidence-based rehabilitation concepts used to return the athlete to high-level sports participation.

The manual therapy laboratory breakout sessions will allow participants to practice hands-on techniques and screening tools used to optimize the athlete's return to activity.

This program has been submitted to the Ohio Physical Therapy Association for approval of 7.5 continuing education units for physical therapists and physical therapy assistants.

OSU Sports Medicine is an Approved Provider of continuing education for athletic trainers. This program has been approved for a maximum of 7.5 continuing education units by the Board of Certification for Certified Athletic Trainers.

2012 Pre-Wimbledon Sports Medicine and Sports Science Conference

Presented by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) in association with the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports Medicine (ACPSM) and the Society of Tennis Medicine and Science (STMS) at Parkstead House, Holybourne Avenue, Roehampton, London, UK on Saturday 23rd June 2012 (LTA sports medicine and sports science conference – day 1) and Sunday 24th June 2012 (ACPSM Annual Study Day and LTA sports medicine and sports science conference – day 2). LTA will apply for CME-CPD accreditation through FSEM.

The conference will include a BBQ on Saturday evening (23rd June) at the LTA National Tennis Centre in Priory Lane, Roehampton, London SW15, UK and it is anticipated that conference delegates will be able to attend the first day of The Championships, Wimbledon on Monday 25th June 2012 (subject to availability).

The 2012 conference is supported by the medical departments of the Association of Tennis Professionals and the Women's Tennis Association.
