The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the Sports Physical Therapy Section (SPTS) of the American Physical therapy Association have merged their credentialing of post-professional clinical residency programs under APTA’s Committee on Residency & Fellowship Program Credentialing. All sports physical therapy programs wishing to be credentialed through APTA must meet the APTA’s "Requirements for Post-professional Clinical Residency or Fellowship Programs for Physical Therapists" and the following guidelines developed through SPTS and APTA.
