Mission Statement
The Special Interest Group for the Knee exists in order to further the knowledge of Sports Physical Therapy Section members who have a particular interest in this area. The Knee SIG will act as a facilitator for its members by bringing together individuals with a common interest in the knee at regular business meetings and continuing education programming. As further development occurs the Knee SIG may become more active by acting as a facilitator for research on various aspects of physical therapy management of the knee.

Knee SIG Report: CSM 2011
The Knee SIG held their meeting on the Friday before the Knee programming. We had a nicely attended meeting and came up with some great ideas to be able to use for CSM 2012 and the upcoming year.
The first and biggest item is that the Shoulder and Knee SIGs have agreed to combine into one Facebook page. This will allow for more regular updating of the page and more followers.
Second, regarding programming, the Knee SIG is moving back into the ACL for 2012. In addition to traditional rehab, aquatic therapy and performance enhancement will be included. We thought this might be a nice way to cross promote the talk.
Finally, we discussed the development of a consensus statement on something relatively focused. This would not be officially SPTS or SIG backed, but just an internal Knee SIG member project. This is a work in progress.
